The men of Saint Mark meet at the Rise and Dine Cafe in downtown Chesterland, at the beginning of each month. Breakfast, conversation and a short presentation by various members of the local community as well as members of St. Mark, are the fare of the day. This month, Mark Zimmerman, St. Mark member, radio talk host, Cleveland art museum expert on Jesus in art, Cleveland Indians and Lake Erie Captain fan and employee, Geauga Transit employee, marketing expert, Bible study teacher, Christian fundraiser for many organizations, where do I stop? Needless to say Mark has a lot to say about a myriad of subjects.
Mark concentrated on the people he serves as a full time bus driver for Geauga Transit. Without mentioning names he talked about the people he serves on a daily basis, their joy in the face of disabilities as he straps their wheel chairs in, the joy that they show in gaining degrees of independence as they recover from strokes, the irritability of some of the bus riders and their apologies and the singing of the seniors from the Geauga Senior Center. Mark enjoys the opportunity to serve others in his daily work. He summed up his presentation with a Bible verse.
Matt 25: 34-40 Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’ Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ And the King will answer them, Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’
The next men’s breakfast is Saturday July 7, 2018, 9 am to 10:15 am, call Ron Cudnik at 440-338-3735 to reserve your spot.
