Cycles for Christ

St. Mark has expanded its ministry to the people we serve at Trinity Lutheran in Ohio City. A suburban policeman, Kevin Thomas brought to our attention that he is associated with Cycles for Christ. Kevin has access to bicycles that need repair through his work as a policeman. The bikes are refurbished through Cycles for Christ and given free of charge to those in need. A St.Mark – Trinity Lutheran Christmas

On December 21, 2019, members of St. Mark joined in a caravan of cars led by the St. Mark church bus “Prayer Force One” to Trinity Lutheran in Ohio City to hold a joint Chrismas Party for the homeless and needy. St. Mark members collected hygiene supplies over the previous 3 weeks and members of the Tuesday Morning Bible study at St. Mark assembled them in Christmas gift bags. Easter baskets-geauga Job and Family Services

The members of St. Mark filled over 170 Easter Baskets and loaded them on “Prayer Force One ” and took them to the office of Geauga County Job and Family Services to be distributed to childern in Geauga County. Many thanks to Giant Eagle Supermarket for their donation of baskets to help us with this outreach.

Happy Birthday Jan !!!

On Feb 24, an 80th birthday party for Jan Cicchella, took place in the St. Mark fellowship hall. Great decorations, fun food and lively conversations were the fare for Jan’s family and friends. Jan is a beloved, long time member of the St. Mark congregation. her Faith, and enduring strength and energy are an inspiration to everyone. 2018 Women’s Retreat

On March 10, 2018 St. Mark hosted the second annual Women’s Retreat. We were excited to have our Senior Pastor, Rev. Mark Matzke, return as the keynote speaker. Joining Pastor Matzke with presentations included Sandy McLeod the Senior Centers Supervisor for the Geauga County Department on Aging; Susan Arnold, self-employed businesswoman from Newbury, Ohio and group leader for BSF International, an international Bible study organization; and Mary Bates, CEO of HARP Missions, an organization designed to help people become reestablished…

August 2017 Community Lunch

Each month St. Mark opens the doors of our “Fellowship Hall” to the Chesterland and surrounding community for a free community lunch. August featured sloppy joes, cole slaw, fruit salad, desserts and chips. The event takes place on the last Wednesday of the month. Transportation is available from the Chesterland Geauga Senior Center on the St. Mark Church Bus “Prayer Force One”

2017 First Annual Women’s Retreat

On March 18, 2017, St. Mark hosted our first annual Women’s retreat. Attended by approximately 60 women from Saint Mark and a number of Lutheran churches in Northern Ohio. The presenters were Rev. Mark Matzke fromm St. Mark, Rev. February Community Lunch

On a balmy February 22, 2017 the Women’s League at St. Mark held the monthly community free lunch! “Prayer Force One” the St. Mark church bus headed to the Chesterland Geauga County Senior center and transported a number of seniors to St. Mark where they had a delicious lunch with a lot of people from Chesterland and the surrounding communities.
