Gift of the Magi Boutique 2018
Once a year the members of St. Mark transform the hallways and fellowship hall into a magical Christmas boutique, featuring handmade items that make special Christmas gifts. The St. Mark vision statement is “Making Caring Connections in the Community.” By opening the doors of St. Mark to vendors and members of the surrounding communities, we hope that when they have spiritual needs, they will think of St. Mark to help them with those needs as well. Youth Group Mission Trip- Send Off
What a send off for the St. Mark Youth as they head to Altoona PA to do some servant evangelism! At the 9:45 service on June 10, 2018, all those heading to the missionfield were commisioned and received a blessing in front of the congregation. They were treated to hot dogs, hamburgers and mac and cheese plus other goodies at a going away lunch in fellowship hall after the service. Planting the Fun in FUNdraising
St. Mark Women’s League has three major fundraisers each year. The Spring Plant Sale, The Fall “This and That Sale”and the Gift of the Magi Boutique. Last weekend, starting on Friday May 18 and continuing through Sunday, St. Mark opened their doors to the community for an opportunity to put some Spring in their yards by purchasing plantable plants and hanging baskets. Easter Basket Outreach
The members of St. Mark filled 127 Easter Baskets with gifts for the children of Geauga County. Each basket was special, pink for girls, blue for boys. A note from the St. Mark congregation was included in each basket. The baskets were loaded on “Prayer Force One”, the church bus and were delivered to Geauga Jobs and Family Services. , on March 22, 2018. Thanks to Monica McGurer for the photos
Christmas In February In Haiti !!!

Gift of the Magi Christmas Boutique – Magical
On Nov. 10 and 11th , the St. Mark church entrance, hallways and Fellowship Hall were turned into a magical Christmas boutique. Beautifully displayed, colorful hand made Christmas gifts were available for purchase during the event. The proceeds will be used to fund projects and ministries by the Women’s League at St. Mark. Honoring Service, Serving the Needy, Fellowship, Bibles for Kids
The weekend ending on Sunday Sept 24, was a busy time at St. Mark. Hildred Tornberg, the longtime church organist retired from playing the organ. Hildred will still direct the choir. The congregation appreciates her years of service and dedication to excellence in music at St. Mark . St. Mark Chesterland joins hurricane relief
St. Mark joined with Ministry In Mission, a Recognized Service Organization of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS), to help provide relief supplies for hurricane relief. St. Mark members loaded the St. Mark church bus, “Prayer Force One” with palettes of freeze dried food, bags of pet food, diapers and cleaning supplies. August Men’s Breakfast
Ryan Jensen, missionary to Northern China, was the guest speaker at the August St. Mark monthly men’s breakfast. Ryan, who grew up in the Chesterland area, highlighted his experiences in China and spoke about a specific opportunity he had to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with a family in China.
