Gift of the Magi Boutique 2019
The Ladies at St. Mark transformed the hallways, library and fellowship hall into a magical Christmas boutique. On Friday and Saturday on the second weekend in November 2019. Christmas shoppers from Northeast Ohio, gathered at St. Mark to purchase beautiful, unique handcrafted items, from Christmas trees made from old hand saws to warm knitted hats and scarfs. October Men’s Breakfast
Rise and Dine Cafe in Downtown Chesterland has been the home of the “St. Mark Men’s Breakfast” for more than 10 years. Pastor Ken Welsh and Ron Cudnik have faithfully contacted men and found speakers for each breakfast. This month’s speaker was Rev. Jeff Stevens. St. Mark September Rewind
September was a busy month at St. Mark. After Labor Day we resumed our 3 services, Sunday 8:15 AM, 9:45 AM, and 11:00 AM. Vicar Chris Ryan had his official installation at St. Mark on September 8th. Vicar Ryan continues his studies through the Specific Ministry Program at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis Missouri. The annual St. Mark “This and That” sale was also in early September. Easter baskets-geauga Job and Family Services
The members of St. Mark filled over 170 Easter Baskets and loaded them on “Prayer Force One ” and took them to the office of Geauga County Job and Family Services to be distributed to childern in Geauga County. Many thanks to Giant Eagle Supermarket for their donation of baskets to help us with this outreach.
Happy Birthday -African Refugees
On Saturday, Mar. 23, a team from St. Mark boarded “Prayer Force One” the church bus and headed to Trinity Lutheran in Ohio City to celebrate the birthdays of the African Refugees in Trinity’s Refugee Outreach program. St. Mark members had baked cupcakes and the team served a chicken dinner to these refugees who are primarily from the Congo and Rwanda. Christmas Community Lunch
On Dec. 19, The Ladies of St. Mark opened the doors of the St. Mark Fellowship Hall to the people of the surrounding communities for their month FREE fellowship luncheon Rigatoni with meatballs , salad and Christmas cookies were enjoyed by all. Turkey Casserole was the main course at the Nov. St. Mark community lunch. The hearty seniors from the West Geauga Senior center boarded “Prayer Force One” the St. Mark Church bus and joined the attendees from many local communities to enjoy great food and friendly conversation. Once a year the members of St. Mark transform the hallways and fellowship hall into a magical Christmas boutique, featuring handmade items that make special Christmas gifts. The St. Mark vision statement is “Making Caring Connections in the Community.” By opening the doors of St. Mark to vendors and members of the surrounding communities, we hope that when they have spiritual needs, they will think of St. Mark to help them with those needs as well. October Community Lunch
Halloween was the day of the monthly free community lunch at St. Mark. The ladies of the congregation donned masks and served the residents of Chesterland and surrounding community. Soup was the fare of the day, plus salad, corn bread and some scrumptious desserts. Note the Geauga County Library Fun Bus was visiting the St. Mark Preschool. St. Mark has a free luncheon the last Wednesday each month. November 28th is the next linch.
