October Community Lunch

Halloween was the day of the monthly free community lunch at St. Mark. The ladies of the congregation donned masks and served the residents of Chesterland and surrounding community. Soup was the fare of the day, plus salad, corn bread  and some scrumptious desserts. Note the Geauga County Library Fun Bus was visiting the St. Mark Preschool. St. Mark has a free luncheon the last Wednesday each month. November 28th is the next linch.

Vacation Bible School 2018

St. Mark Lutheran Chesterland Ohio, invited the children in the surrounding communities to Splash Canyon, the theme for the 2018 Vacation Bible School. From the exciting white water rafting in the main church entrance way to the rocks and waterfall in the church sanctuary, the young people learned about Jesus through song, stories, crafts and videos. St. Mark Picnic 2018

On June 3, 2018,  the members of St. Mark met in our sanctuary for one service at 10:am. The sanctuary was full as our voices razed the roof in song and we as brothers and sisters in Christ participated in the Sacrament of the Altar (Communion). Planting the Fun in FUNdraising

St. Mark Women’s League has three major fundraisers each year. The Spring Plant Sale,   The Fall “This and That Sale”and the Gift of the Magi Boutique. Last weekend, starting on Friday May 18 and continuing through Sunday, St. Mark  opened their doors to the community for an opportunity to put some Spring in their yards by purchasing plantable plants and hanging baskets. Friday featured the “Tour de Fleurs” Plant sale and preview party. A fun time of fellowship food…

12th Annual Mothers Day Luncheon

On Saturday May 12, 2018 the women of St. Mark got together in the St. Mark Fellowship Hall for the 12th annual Mothers Day Luncheon.  This years theme, “A fun look at fashion from Victorian Times to present.” Thanks to Donna Toth for the pictures

Easter Basket Outreach

The members of St. Mark filled 127 Easter Baskets with gifts for the children of Geauga County. Each basket was special, pink for girls, blue for boys. A note from the St. Mark congregation was included in each basket. The baskets were loaded on “Prayer Force One”, the church bus and were delivered to Geauga Jobs and Family Services. , on March 22, 2018. Thanks to Monica McGurer for the photos    

St. Mark Chili Cook Off

On February 11, 2018 St. Mark held its first annual Chili Cook Off. The competition was HOT and heavy. Winner of the beautiful trophies were Ray Geleske for  Best Tasting and Ron Downs for Most Creative

2017 Youth Group Christmas Party

Bill Maiden Honored by University Hospitals

On Monday Dec. 11, 2017 Bill Maiden, a long time St. Mark member was honored for his service in the military by University Hospital Hospice. Bill was presented with a pin and certificate honoring his military service in the United States Marine Corps. Bill told the group about his growing up as a youth in Alabama through his service to the United States as a Marine in World War II. He also led a stirring rendition of “God Bless America,”.…

November Community Lunch

Nov 30, 2017 was Turkey Day for the community surrounding St. Mark. Home made turkey stuffing casserole was the main course at the St. Mark monthly community free lunch. Fellowship Hall was full of laughter and conversations , the St. Mark bus “Prayforce One” brought people from the West Geauga Senior Center, food and friendship was the order of the day. The next community lunch will be Dec.27! Mark your calendars and celebrate Christmas with us.

St. Mark Celebrates Bill Maiden at 95

Often described as the “Spiritual Soul” of the St. Mark congregation, Bill Maiden had his 95th birthday celebrated on Sunday Nov. 27 in the St. Mark Fellowship Hall.
