St. Mark Picnic 2018

On June 3, 2018,  the members of St. Mark met in our sanctuary for one service at 10:am. The sanctuary was full as our voices razed the roof in song and we as brothers and sisters in Christ participated in the Sacrament of the Altar (Communion). Planting the Fun in FUNdraising

St. Mark Women’s League has three major fundraisers each year. The Spring Plant Sale,   The Fall “This and That Sale”and the Gift of the Magi Boutique. Last weekend, starting on Friday May 18 and continuing through Sunday, St. Mark  opened their doors to the community for an opportunity to put some Spring in their yards by purchasing plantable plants and hanging baskets. April Community Lunch

On April 26, 2018, St. Mark hosted it’s monthly community lunch. There is no charge as members of the Chesterland and surrounding area gather in St. mark’s fellowship hall and have a great meal and conversation. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE A ST. MARK MEMBER TO ATTEND. Collecting Donations for Womansafe

WOMENSAFE DONATIONS IN THE ST. MARK CHURCH LOBBY Women’s League is collecting personal items to give as gifts for Mother’s Day to the residents of the Womensafe Shelter.  Items such as shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, body lotion, fuzzy socks, manicure tools, hairbrushes and combs are just some ideas of gifts. Donations will be accepted through May 6th.  Any questions should be forwarded to Diana Monaghan at 440-286-3661

April Men’s Breakfast

Rev. Gerald Matzke made a presentation about the church history surrounding the Sunday after Easter at the monthly April men’s breakfast at the Rise and Dine Cafe in Chesterland. Pastor Matzke’s presentation about “Low Sunday” , the name associated with the first Sunday after Easter , featured  historical background and a number of humorous saying and jokes associated with the traditional revelry on that Sunday. Easter Basket Outreach

The members of St. Mark filled 127 Easter Baskets with gifts for the children of Geauga County. Each basket was special, pink for girls, blue for boys. A note from the St. Mark congregation was included in each basket. The baskets were loaded on “Prayer Force One”, the church bus and were delivered to Geauga Jobs and Family Services. , on March 22, 2018. Thanks to Monica McGurer for the photos    

2018 Women’s Retreat

On March 10, 2018 St. Mark hosted the second annual Women’s Retreat. We were excited to have our Senior Pastor, Rev. Mark Matzke, return as the keynote speaker. Joining Pastor Matzke with presentations included Sandy McLeod the Senior Centers Supervisor for the Geauga County Department on Aging; Susan Arnold, self-employed businesswoman from Newbury, Ohio and group leader for BSF International, an international Bible study organization; and Mary Bates, CEO of HARP Missions, an organization designed to help people become reestablished…

2018 Youth Lock-In

Whirll Ball, Bowling, Lazer Tag, Food, Music, trying to stay up all night. What fun! This describes the 2018 youth lock-in at St. Mark! Friday Feb. 23, 2018 was the date!
