Serving Those In Need
Once a month the members at St. Mark board “Prayer Force One” the church bus and head to Trinity Lutheran, Ohio City, with clothes for their clothing ministry, canned goods and staples for their food pantry and a meal served in the Trinity Lutheran Social Hall. August Men’s Breakfast
On Saturday August 3, 2018 the men of St. Mark met at Rise and Dine Cafe in downtown Chesterland for breakfast, conversation and a short presentation by Dean Carlo,Campus Life Director Youth For Christ. Dean challenged the men in attendance to live up to the Biblical ideals of manhood in his presentation. Cruise In- to a Golf Scramble-Steak at the 19th hole
The last weekend of July was a busy one at St. Mark. On Saturday, the Saint Mark parking lot became a show place for classic automobiles. The annual Cruise In featured cars from members of our congregation as well as classic car collectors from Chesterland and surrounding areas. Sunday featured the St. Mark Open at Legend Lakes Golf club. After many prayers at the morning services, the golfers headed out in the afternoon for some fellowship around a golf tournament.…
Vacation Bible School 2018
St. Mark Lutheran Chesterland Ohio, invited the children in the surrounding communities to Splash Canyon, the theme for the 2018 Vacation Bible School. From the exciting white water rafting in the main church entrance way to the rocks and waterfall in the church sanctuary, the young people learned about Jesus through song, stories, crafts and videos. Thanks to all who participated.
Chesterland Independence Day Parade
Music by the Praise team, flinging frisbees, were just part of the fun as members of St. Mark participated in the annual Chesterland Independence Day Parade. Meeting at the church early, loading the donated (thank you Onderdonks) trailer with instruments, signs, inverters, batteries, we marched next to the St. Mark Praise team as they praised the Lord with music.We handed out frisbees as with the St. Mark contact information on them. Thanks to all who participated.
June Community Lunch
Sausage, Au gratin potatoes, corn, rolls, fruit salad, homemade deserts plus great conversations, laughter, and joyful serving were the fare of the day at St. Mark for the monthly free community lunch, Each month the ladies of St. Mark sponsor a free luncheon for the Chesterland and surrounding communities. Youth Group Mission Trip- Send Off
What a send off for the St. Mark Youth as they head to Altoona PA to do some servant evangelism! At the 9:45 service on June 10, 2018, all those heading to the missionfield were commisioned and received a blessing in front of the congregation. St. Mark Picnic 2018
On June 3, 2018, the members of St. Mark met in our sanctuary for one service at 10:am. The sanctuary was full as our voices razed the roof in song and we as brothers and sisters in Christ participated in the Sacrament of the Altar (Communion). Planting the Fun in FUNdraising
St. Mark Women’s League has three major fundraisers each year. The Spring Plant Sale, The Fall “This and That Sale”and the Gift of the Magi Boutique. Last weekend, starting on Friday May 18 and continuing through Sunday, St. Mark opened their doors to the community for an opportunity to put some Spring in their yards by purchasing plantable plants and hanging baskets.
