September Mens Breakfast
Thank You, Guido’s in downtown Chesterland for providing a venue for our monthly men’s breakfast. And thank you, Versare Café and Market across from Guido’s for providing a delicious breakfast. August Free Community Lunch
Who doesn’t like cookouts? The August St. Mark Women’s league’s monthly free community lunch featured hamburgers, hot dogs, coleslaw. mac and cheese, cake, and ice cream bars! Once again, the Chesterland and surrounding community is served by these awesome women. Meals were made to go for those that had someone at home who couldn’t make it in person. Thank You Lutheran East High
St. Mark along with Trinity Lutheran in Ohio City hosts a monthly meal for those in need on the third Saturday of every month. Last Saturday, August 20, we were joined by students and faculty from Lutheran East High School, In addition to the delicious pulled pork sandwiches made by the St. Mark Women’s League, the GOOD NEWS OF JESUS CHRIST WAS PROCLAIMED , both in word and by tracts given out by Trinity members.
Hamburgers and The Gospel
St. Mark members loaded up clothing for Trinity Lutheran’s clothing ministry and food staples for their food pantry and headed down to the cul-de-sac in front of the church to serve, hamburgers, cheeseburgers, homemade macaroni salad, popcorn, and cookies to people from the Ohio City neighborhood. Dave Onysko, proclaimed the Gospel and read Scripture to those in attendance. St. Mark serves these people every month on the third Saturday of the month. Join us for a fun rewarding experience.
St. Mark 4th of July Parade
As we do every year on the fourth of July, St. Mark Lutheran Church shares the Good News Of Jesus Christ through song at the Chesterland Parade, sponsored by the West Geauga Kiwanis. Wendy Zimmerman, Tim Holt, Leah Spisak, and Bryce Schill played and sang their favorite praise songs on the St. Mark float. June Men’s Breakfast
On June 11, the men of St. Mark met at Guido’s Pizza Haven in downtown Chesterland for Breakfast. Ron Croucher, a long-time member of St. Mark, gave an uplifting message about God working in people’s lives. The breakfast is a monthly event on the 2nd Saturday of the month. Missionary Visit
On Sunday, June 5th, we welcomed to our Education Hour Gary and Sue Kessler, who are serving the Lord through The Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod (LCMS) in Belize. In this role, Gary manages the LCMS’ construction projects in the country and coordinates the short-term teams that come to serve there. Meanwhile, Sue oversees religious education at Little Lambs Preschool in the Valley of Peace community and teaches English classes. Free Lunch and games
Wednesday, May 25th was a busy day at St. Mark!! The monthly free community lunch hosted by our Women’s League featured a barbecue with grilled hamburgers and hot dogs. Many people from the community attended, families, seniors, moms, and daughters, the fellowship was special. Speaking of fellowship, our fellowship board hosted our first game night in the fellowship hall on Wednesday evening. Card and board games were enjoyed by all, as well as desserts and popcorn.
Men’s Fellowship Breakfast
On May 14, 2022, the men of St. Mark gathered at Guido’s Restaurant in downtown Chesterland for breakfast. This breakfast, a long-standing tradition at St. Mark, was the first in almost two years. It had been sidelined because of Covid. We are grateful to Guido’s for opening their doors to our group. It was difficult to find a location for Saturday mornings. Morgan Paula Atwara is the daughter of Fran and Mike Atwara. She was born in Willoughby, OH on March 7, 2008, and baptized at St. Mark Lutheran on June 28, 2008. Morgan’s sponsors are Patrick Atwara, Jr., and Annaliese Coleman. She has two sisters – Taylor and Gabby.
