2019 Chesterland Fourth of July Parade 2019

St.Mark ROADtrip rewind
On the weekend of June 14, members of St. Mark took the road and traveled to the State of Kentucky to the Creation Museum and Ark Encounter. The group consisted of great grandparents with their great-grandchildren, young families, teens, and seniors. All had the opportunity to have their beliefs in creation upheld by exhibits on God’s creation as outlined in the bible book Genesis. June Men’s Breakfast
June 1, 2019 was the date for our St. Mark monthly men’s breakfast. The Rise and Dine Cafe in downtown Chesterland is the venue. A great breakfast with eggs, bacon sausage, French toast and fried potatoes is the typical fare with lots of coffee. May Community Lunch Cook Out
On the last Wednesday of EVERY month St. Mark hosts a community free lunch for the communities surrounding St. Mark. May’s lunch featured a cook-out with hamburgers and hot dogs prepared on the St. Mark Grill at the entranceway to the church. Fellowship hall featured additional goodies, potato salad, watermelon and cookies baked by the St. Mark members. Education Volunteer Appreciation Dinner
On Monday, May 6th, the Board of Education at St. Mark held a volunteer appreciation dinner to recognize those that have had an impact on the youth at St. Mark over the past school year. Deacon Chris Ryan, head of the St. Mark Board of Education thanked all those in attendance. The event featured a lively, white elephant, gift auction along with unofficial Martin Luther currency, thanks to Kim Ryan.
May men’s breakfast
On Saturday, May 4th, the men of St. Mark gathered at the Rise and Dine Cafe in downtown Chesterland. As usual, a delicious breakfast was served by the Rise and Dine staff. The Rev. Easter baskets-geauga Job and Family Services
The members of St. Mark filled over 170 Easter Baskets and loaded them on “Prayer Force One ” and took them to the office of Geauga County Job and Family Services to be distributed to childern in Geauga County. Many thanks to Giant Eagle Supermarket for their donation of baskets to help us with this outreach.
Happy Birthday -African Refugees
On Saturday, Mar. 23, a team from St. Mark boarded “Prayer Force One” the church bus and headed to Trinity Lutheran in Ohio City to celebrate the birthdays of the African Refugees in Trinity’s Refugee Outreach program. St. Mark members had baked cupcakes and the team served a chicken dinner to these refugees who are primarily from the Congo and Rwanda. St. Mark Women’s Retreat 2019
On Saturday, March 16, 2019, the St. Mark Women’s League held their annual retreat. The event was open to all women, not just St. Mark members. The Reverend Mark Matzke, Pastor at St. Mark gave the opening presentation, highlighting the theme, “Let God Be Your GPS.” A number of speakers presented during the day followed by discussion sessions. Lunch was served. It was a delightful day for all that attended.
