Fried Chicken at Trinity
On Saturday, July 24, 2021, St. Mark hosted a meal and message along with members of Trinity Lutheran Church on the culdesac in front of Trinity Lutheran Church in Ohio City. The Meisters, members of St. Mark, and owners of Shaker Quality Auto Body and Repair donated delicious fried chicken. Chesterland Independence Day Parade
St. Mark entered a float in the Chesterland Independence day Parade. The Parade, sponsored by the West Geauga Kiwanis featured many community organizations. The parade route started at Metzenbaum school on Cedar Rd. and finished at the West Geauga High School. The St. Mark Praise team led by Wendy Zimmerman played and sang live music along the route. St. Mark members passed out reusable grocery bags that celebrated St. Mark’s 60th anniversary.
Welcome New Members
On Sunday May 9th, St. Mark welcomed 14 people into membership at St. Mark. We are so blessed to have Pastor Ken Welsh continue to teach our Life with God Class and follow up on people expressing an interest in becoming members at St. Mark
Confirmation 2021
St. Mark is happy to announce that Nathan Ryan was confirmed at St. Mark on May 2, 2021. Nathan spoke at both services about his faith and received the sacrament of Holy Communion surrounded by family friends and his fellow members at St. Mark.
Cycles for Christ
St. Mark has expanded its ministry to the people we serve at Trinity Lutheran in Ohio City. A suburban policeman, Kevin Thomas brought to our attention that he is associated with Cycles for Christ. Kevin has access to bicycles that need repair through his work as a policeman. The bikes are refurbished through Cycles for Christ and given free of charge to those in need. Trinity Lutheran Outreach Cookout
On April 17, 2021, St. Mark members boarded the church bus, “Prayer Force One” and headed to Trinity Lutheran in the Ohio City neighborhood of the city of Cleveland to serve a meal to the neighborhood folks surrounding the Trinity Church. We serve every month but this was our first outdoor cookout of the year. We partner with the members of Trinity not only by serving a meal but helping stock their clothing ministry and food pantry . February Community Lunch
On February 24, the Women’s League at St. Mark hosted their monthly free community lunch. Due to Covid restrictions, the lunches have been served in, “drive-through” style. This month’s fare included corn chowder, sweet bread, and fruit cocktail. The lunch was served from 11 am to 1 pm. During Lent St. Mark has a Wednesday 11:30 am Lenten service as well as a 7:30 pm Lenten service. Many of the people that attended the 11:30 am service enjoyed a “take…
Trinity Lutheran Ohio City Clothing Ministry
Just a quick update on the St. Mark partnership with Trinity Lutheran’s Clothing Ministry. All throughout the pandemic, the members of Trinity Lutheran have served those in need in the Ohio City neighborhood. St. Mark members donate clothing to help this ministry. Vicar Ryan takes next step to Ordination
Vicar Chris Ryan is involved in Seminary training from Concordia Seminary In St. Louis Mo., to become a Pastor at St. Mark. His training is through the Specific Ministry Pastor program. The Specific Ministry Pastor Program is a distance-based, specialized program of theological education available at both seminaries. It is available to those involved in a ministry site where they will serve as vicars for the first two years of the program. After successful completion of the first two years and…

Sharing the Good News in Ohio City
Every month members of St. Mark board the church bus “Prayer Force One” and drive to Trinity Lutheran Church in Ohio City to serve a meal and share the Good News of Jesus Christ.
