Missionary Visit

On Sunday, June 5th, we welcomed to our Education Hour Gary and Sue Kessler, who are serving the Lord through The Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod (LCMS) in Belize. In this role, Gary manages the LCMS’ construction projects in the country and coordinates the short-term teams that come to serve there. Meanwhile, Sue oversees religious education at Little Lambs Preschool in the Valley of Peace community and teaches English classes. Free Lunch and games

Wednesday, May 25th was a busy day at St. Mark!! The monthly free community lunch hosted by our Women’s League featured a barbecue with grilled hamburgers and hot dogs. Many people from the community attended, families, seniors, moms, and daughters, the fellowship was special. Speaking of fellowship, our fellowship board hosted our first game night in the fellowship hall on Wednesday evening. Card and board games were enjoyed by all, as well as desserts and popcorn.

Men’s Fellowship Breakfast

On May 14, 2022, the men of St. Mark gathered at Guido’s Restaurant in downtown Chesterland for breakfast. This breakfast, a long-standing tradition at St. Mark, was the first in almost two years. It had been sidelined because of Covid. We are grateful to Guido’s for opening their doors to our group. It was difficult to find a location for Saturday mornings. Morgan Paula Atwara is the daughter of Fran and Mike Atwara. She was born in Willoughby, OH on March 7, 2008, and baptized at St. Mark Lutheran on June 28, 2008. Morgan’s sponsors are Patrick Atwara, Jr., and Annaliese Coleman. She has two sisters – Taylor and Gabby. St. Patrick’s Day Party -Trinity Lutheran

On Saturday, March 19, 2022, St. Mark members had a St. Patrick’s Day Party for those in need at Trinity Lutheran in Ohio city. Corn Beef and Cabbage was the enjoyed by all, along with a huge amount of cupcakes, home-made and decorated by St. Mark members. ST. MARK Kids Fill Easter Baskets

Elementary and Middle School Kids (and all their friends)!!!!! were the Easter Bunny’s helper on Saturday, March 12 at 10am in the Fellowship Hall. They prepared the Easter baskets that will be made available to the congregation to fill. Fun, games, a brief message, and lunch were provided. These Easter Baskets once filled by members of the congregation will be delivered to Geauga County Family Services and distributed to needy families in the area

Congratulations Pastor Ryan

On Jan 16, 2022 Rev. Christopher Ryan was ordained as a Pastor serving at St. Mark. The ordination service at St. Mark was attended by area clergy, as well as Pastor Chris’s family friends and members of the St. Mark congregation. A banquet, catered by members of the congregation and sponsored by the St. Mark Women’s League immediately followed the ceremony. We are grateful to God for calling Pastor Chris to serve at St. Mark.

Another Year of Serving

We are so grateful at St. Mark to serve alongside our brothers and sisters in Christ at Trinity Lutheran, Ohio City. For over ten years, this partnership has been used by God to spread the GOOD NEWS of Jesus Christ to thousands of people who have attended our monthly dinners. November was busy at St. Mark. Our Women’s League “Gift of the Magi” Boutique turned our hallways into a wonderland of Christmas gifts many handmade by church members and local merchants. Box of Chocolates Concert at St. Mark

St. Mark kicked off their new monthly concert series with the Erie Sound Barbershop Group In St. Mark Fellowship Hall. The group sang a number of favorite songs and serenaded long-time member Carol Deau. A sing-along was the favorite of everyone in attendance. Ramping Up at Trinity Ohio City

The Social Hall at Trinity Lutheran in Ohio City is used for monthly dinners for people in the neighborhood surrounding the church. In the cold weather, it is used as a warming center for those that need to get out of the cold.
