November Mens Breakfast

On the first Saturday of the month the men of St. Mark, meet at the Rise and Dine Cafe in Chesterland for fellowship and to hear a speaker on various subjects. Pastor Ken pointed out that we have been meeting for 8 years and thanked co-ordinator Ron Cudnik for his service. October Community Lunch at St. Mark

Delicious Bratwurst, German Potato Salad, and Sauerkraut was the fare of the day at the St. Mark October Community Free Lunch. “PrayerForce One”, the St. Mark Church Bus provided transportation to St. Mark from the Geauga Community Center in downtown Chesterland. We are grateful to all that participatedin this monthly ministry at St. Mark

Youth Group Launch at St Mark

The Youth Group Launch at St Mark’s  was an exciting evening filled with fun, food & worship.  Thankful for a warm October evening as prizes were awarded to the team first to get a FROZEN tee shirt on one of their team members!  Tons of awesome food including nachos and decorating sugar cookies were served.  Great small group discussions about making the choice to follow Jesus every day.  Looking forward to next week…rumors about shaving cream and cheetos!!! October’s mens breakfast featured Pastor and Author Dave Kern from Vitality Church. Dave gave a gripping account of heroin addiction and his efforts to minister to people with addictions. Dave is the author of the book “Raw Truth Addicted and Redeemed.” November’s breakfast at the Rise and Dine Cafe is on Saturday November 5th at 9 am until about 10. Happy Birthday Nancy

On Sunday Oct. 2, 2016, Nancy Johnson was honored at a party at St. Mark Lutheran Church for a milestone birthday! We won’t say exactly how old Nancy is, but the word octogenarian was whispered about. Nancy has been a beloved member of  St. Mark church for 50 years. September Community Lunch

Every Month the Womens League at St.Mark sponsors a community lunch that is free to the public. This months lunch was special because for the first time, the church bus, known as Prayerforce One picked up a number of people at the Geauga Senior Center located in Chesterland and brought them to the lunch. “It Was A Real Nice Clambake”

Fellowship at St. Mark is an important part of our Christian walk together. Sat. September 24 was the St. Mark annual clambake. Like the song, “It was a real nice clambake” from the musical Carousel, it was a real great time . Great things are happening… The weekly Jr. High and High School Youth Group is starting on October 16 at 6:00 p.m. and we need your help. Do you have a passion to walk beside the youth and support and guide them through these teen years? Serving ” Brats” at Building Hope In The City

This Saturday, Sept. 17,we loaded our church bus known as PRAYERFORCE ONE with brats, buns, mac and cheese, and cupcakes and headed to Building Hope In The City, the local outreach of Trinity Lutheran on Cleveland’s near west side. We also brought canned foods and clothing collected by the St. Mark congregation. The clothing was especially welcome as people were looking towards winter. First “Being Lutheran” book study at St. Mark

Many people are involved in studies at St. Mark. Tuesday’s Joy of Christianity Bible Study drew over 35 people. This Thursday the first book study with a pot luck dinner preceding the study had 25 plus in attendance. The study which meets once a month wil discuss the book. “Being Lutheran” by A. Trevor Sutton.
