Sue Matzke reflects on her recent mission trip to Haiti

St. Mark Handbell Quartet

On January 8, 2017, the St. Mark Handbell Quartet played “Christmas Love and Joy” arr. by Valarie Stephenson at all three worship services. The quartet is a a subgroup of the full handbell choir. Directed by Leah Spisak, the handbells  bring their special music to St. Mark many times during the year. If you would like to join our handbell choir, contact Leah by calling the church office at 440-729-1668.

January 2017 Men’s Fellowship Breakfast

The  Rise and Dine Cafe hosted the January St. Mark monthly men’s fellowship breakfast. Rev. Daniel Esala , a retired Pastor at Valley Lutheran church in Chagrin Falls, OH. wasthe guest speaker Pastor Esala had preached many times at St. Mark during the vacancy after Pastor Zehnder had retired. What does the Old Testament have to do with our liturgies? What does God do for us when we gather together? Be a part of the discussion from 7:15–8:15 p.m. each Wednesday night in February. 2016 Children’s Christmas program

Dec. Community Lunch

Great attendance, Christmas outfits, awesome volunteers and great food highlighted the December community lunch at St. Mark. The free lunch is sponsored by the St. Mark Womens League every month. The Janualy 2017 Lunch is on January 25th 2017 fromm 11 am to 1pm  

Dec. Mens’ Breakfast

Rise and Dine Cafe in Chesterland hosted our monthly men’s breakfast. This months speaker was Rev. Jeff Stevens. Jeff has been a local Pastor as well as a LCMS District Executive.  He most recently did a great job shepherding St. Mark though a visioning process. Thanks to Bruce Robinson for the great pics

Nov. Community Lunch

November 16, was turkey day at the St. Mark Lutheran, community free lunch. Home made turkey  casserole, home made cranberry sauce , and green beans were the order of the day as well as pumpkin pie and other delicious desserts. “Prayerforce One” the St. Mark church bus made its regular monthly trip to the Chesterland Geauga Senior Center to transport a fun group of seniors to the lunch. Gift of the Magi Christmas Boutique 2016

Beautiful colors, awesome handmade crafts, great fellowship, live music, great snack food are just a few of the superlatives that describe the St. Mark Annual Christmas Boutique. Many of the ladies in our congregation dedicate themselves to this event for many months before it actually occurs. The congregation volunteers and helps make the non-sanctuary areas of the church into a magical Christmas store. Many vendors from outside the church display their hand made wares. November Mens Breakfast

On the first Saturday of the month the men of St. Mark, meet at the Rise and Dine Cafe in Chesterland for fellowship and to hear a speaker on various subjects.
