March Community Lunch
On the last Wednesday of every month the St. Mark Women’s League sponsors a free community lunch. This month’s lunch was well attended on a beautiful, sunny spring day. Pulled pork sandwiches, macaroni and cheese, salad an deserts were the lunch of the day. Easter Baskets for Foster Kids
Every Year St. Mark prepares Easter Baskets as gifts for kids in foster families through Geauga Jobs and Family Services. This Year we have prepared well over 100 baskets. Monica McGurer who co-ordinates this effort, brings empty baskets to church and church members take them home and fill them. Each basket is unique and hand filled by St. Mark members. Family Style at Building Hope In The City
On March 25, 2017, a team from St. Mark boarded the church bus, “Prayer Force One” and headed to Building Hope In The City (BHIC), the urban outreach of Trinity Lutheran Church on the near west side of Cleveland. 2017 First Annual Women’s Retreat
On March 18, 2017, St. Mark hosted our first annual Women’s retreat. Attended by approximately 60 women from Saint Mark and a number of Lutheran churches in Northern Ohio. The presenters were Rev. Mark Matzke fromm St. Mark, Rev. Powell Woods from Hope Lutheran Church in Aurora OH and St. Mark member Jackie Rychel, President of Ministry In Mission, a recognized service organization of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. March Men’s Breakfast
On March 4, 2017 the men of St. Mark met at The Rise and Dine Cafe in downtown Chesterland for great food, and fellowship Dave Toth, the new head elder at St. Mark , gave a brief presentation on the biblical foundation for elders in the church and the duties of the elders at St. Mark. Serving at Building Hope In The City
On Feb. 25, 2017, St. Mark members served at Building Hope In The City (BHIC), Trinity Lutheran’s, Cleveland Ohio urban outreach, . The St. Mark congregation cooked delicious home made meatloaves. A group of St. Mark members boarded “Prayer Force One” the church bus and served the meat loaves along with mashed potatoes, corn and various deserts to those in need. February Community Lunch
On a balmy February 22, 2017 the Women’s League at St. Mark held the monthly community free lunch! “Prayer Force One” the St. Mark church bus headed to the Chesterland Geauga County Senior center and transported a number of seniors to St. Mark where they had a delicious lunch with a lot of people from Chesterland and the surrounding communities. Fellowship at Danny Boys
On February 18, 2017 the fellowship committee at St. Mark sponsored a dinner at Danny Boys restaurant in Chesterland OH. Fellowship is an important part of the St. Mark ministry. With three services on a Sunday, it’s hard to get to meet everyone. Having fellowship events both at church and at different venues promotes friendship and lots of fun. Feb. Mens Breakfast
It was another awesome mens breakfast in February at Chesterland’s Rise and Dine Cafe. Shaun Forbes from Fellowship of Christian Athletes was our guest speaker. Shaun talked about his background in sports , his organization and he encouraged the men of St. Mark to use their individual gifts for the Glory of God. Happy Birthday St. Mark
On January 29, 2017 we celebrated everyone’s birthday at St. Mark. We received Communion on a one service Sunday .Following theservice we had a birthday party potluck in fellowship hall. Each person at the party had to sit at the table that aligned with their birthday month. This was a great way to meet new people in the congregation.

Every month the Women’s League at St. Mark sponsor a lunch, that is free to all member of the community. The St. Mark church bus, “PRAYERFORCE ONE” provides transportation from the Geauga Senior Center and Fellowship hall comes alive with great food, conversation and laughter. 2017 Women’s League Luncheon
St. Mark Lutheran Church is truly blessed to have an extremely active Women’s League. Through their efforts much outreach is done. The Boutique, Plant Sale and monthly community lunches, as well as other events, bring people into our church who when they need some spiritual help might think of St. Mark and hear the Good News of Jesus Christ.
