Back to Church Sunday
Sept. 17, 2023 is National Back to Church Sunday. St. Mark is participating! Invite a friend, relative, or neighbor, to church with you. They need Jesus Christ continually in their lives. If they don’t know who Jesus is, they will find out through the Good News that is proclaimed by Pastor Mark and Pastor Chris on Each Sunday. President Rev. Dr. Kevin Wilson at St. Mark
Welcome to Rev. Dr. Kevin Wilson: Ohio District President, who visited and preached today at St. Mark. Rev. Wilson gave a presentation at the Education Hour in Fellowship Hall at 9:15 between services Pastor Wilson highlighted the services available through the Ohio District to local congregations. He also answered a number of questions from the audience.
August Community Lunch
There was a hint of the upcoming fall weather in the air as the St. Mark Women’s League hosted their monthly community lunch. Grilled hamburgers and hot dogs along with coleslaw, potato chips, and ice cream treats were the fare of the day as hungry community members enjoyed fellowship and the opportunity to meet new friends. PotLuck Picnic and a Movie
Potluck Picnic & Movie On Friday, August 25th the congregation gathered at the St. Mark pavilion for a picnic-style potluck and a movie. The potluck food was delicious, and the hamburgers and hot dogs were scrumptious. The movie, Disney’s Aladdin, was enjoyed by all on this perfect late summer night. Thanks to the St. Mark fellowship committee for their hard work to make this event possible.

August Men’s Breakfast
The St. Mark monthly men’s breakfast met at Coffee Works in downtown Chesterland on Au. 12, 2023. The accommodations were tight due to the large attendance, but we managed to sit elbow to elbow and enjoyed fellowship and a presentation by St. Mark member David Greishammer. Pastor Chris Ryan has completed his Specific Ministry Pastor Curriculum at Concordia St. Louis Seminary. St. Mark members held a reception between services on Sunday, July 30, 2023, to celebrate this accomplishment. Thank You, Pastor Chris, for all your hard work to share the GOOD NEWS of Jesus Christ at St. Mark and the loving Pastoral care you show our members. Serving those in Need
On Saturday, July 15, 2023, St. Mark members hosted a fried chicken dinner for those in need in the Ohio City neighborhood of Cleveland, Ohio. The social hall at Trinity Lutheran Church was the venue. St. Mark serves this meal monthly, which has become a great opportunity to share the Good News of Jesus Christ along with the meal. St. Mark members also bring donated clothes for the Trinity clothing store and food for their food pantry. The message this…
Kiwanis 4th of July Parade
St. Mark members loaded their instruments on a flatbed trailer and shared the Good News of Jesus Christ in song along the parade route of the West Geauga Kiwanis 4th of July Parade. Members of the congregation marched next to the float and tossed out “flying discs” to the crowd that featured information about St. Mark and the upcoming Vacation Bible School.
